Ted burst onto the scene as a green 8yo after being sent to Holly by his owner and breeder Steph Callwood. His ability quickly began to shine. Coupled with his easy-going can-do attitude he quickly took the showjumping world by storm.
5* Grand Prix/Nations Cup level was a walk in the park for Ted. All of a sudden everything we as a team had been striving for seemed simple and almost expected!
Multiple Grand Prix wins followed. 5* Nations Cup wins and double clears, World Cup placings. His final performances were among his best with a team bronze medal at the European Championships, an outstanding performance at the Nations Cup Final-Barcelona and a win in the final class he ever jumped, a 3* Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera.
We all simply adored him and the Olympic dream seemed to be in motion. Sadly after a short illness that nobody could have foreseen, with the Olympics in our grasp, Ted was taken from us. We were and still are devastated, but have to be thankful we have had him in our lives. He really gave us all a taste of what was possible in the sport.
Thank you Ted.
You were in a million and we will never forget you.
